Authoritarian vs. Authoritative Parenting

Authoritarian parents are those who are strict and require high control but offer little warmth. Their rules are inflexible, and there is little communication with the child.
Authoritative parents have moderate-high control, but offer high amounts of warmth. Their rules are flexible based on open communication with the child. This is the IDEAL type of parenting.
